Danafloat™ 507 B mineral collector

Danafloat 507 B is an aqueous solution of dialkyl dithiophosphate, thionocarbamate and iso-butanol.

Danafloat 507 B is normally added to the grinding circuit or in a conditioner and it has less frothing properties than Danafloat 507.

Danafloat 507 B offers good selectivity of mineral over pyrite and has been used in applications involving chalcopyrite, bornite, chalcocite and covellite copper ores. It has also found use in a mixed oxide-sulphide copper ore in conjunction with xanthate. Other applications are in the flotation of galena and Cu-activated sphalerite. Danafloat 507 B is a good collector for tetrahedrite.

Danafloat 507 B is a very fast and quite powerful collector and it should be used in smaller quantities than xanthate.

Danafloat 507 B should be added undiluted. The dosage of Danafloat 507 B varies with the type of ore, but is normally lower than for xanthates. Recommended dosage is between 10 and 50 grams per metric ton ore.

Danafloat 507 B is normally used in the pH range from 4 to 12.

+ Avoid freezing
+ Store in plastic drums or coated steel drums

Environmental impact

Danafloat 507 B is biodegradable. The majority of the collector is tied up with the concentrate and is destroyed in the subsequent processing operations. The remainder is transferred to the tailings, Release into the water systems should be avoided.
