Danafloat™ 527 E mineral collector

Danafloat 527 E is the water emulsifiable version of Danafloat 527, an aqueous solution of dialkyl dithiophosphate and thionocarbamate.

Danafloat 527 E can be added to the grinding circuit, in a conditioner or the flotation circuit and it has no or very little
frothing action.

Danafloat 527 E offers good selectivity of mineral over pyrite and has been used in applications involving chalcopyrite, bornite, chalcocite and covellite copper ores. It has also found use in a mixed oxide-sulphide copper ore in conjunction with xanthate. Other applications are in the flotation of galena and Cu-activated sphalerite. Danafloat 527 E is a good collector for tetrahedrite and gold ores.

Danafloat 527 E is a very fast and quite powerful collector and it should be used in smaller quantities than xanthate.

Danafloat 527 E can be added undiluted, but a 1-10% emulsion is preferable.

The dosage of Danafloat 527 E varies with the type of ore, but is normally lower than for xanthates. Recommended dosage is between 10 and 50 grams per metric ton ore.

Danafloat 527 E is normally used in the pH range from 4 to 12.

Safety and handling

Danafloat flotation collectors are manufactured under carefully controlled conditions. However, to varying degrees they can be considered harmful and therefore before handling this product always carefully read and understand the MSDS for this product. Danafloat 527 E is harmful if swallowed and causes irritation to eyes and skin.

Safe handling includes the use of safety glasses, natural rubber gloves and protective clothing. Additionally, avoid inhalation of vapours.

+ Store in a dry and well-ventilated place away from heat and sunlight after the principle “first in/first out”
+ Avoid freezing
+ Store in plastic drums or coated steel drums

Environmental impact

Danafloat 527 E is biodegradable. The majority of the collector is tied up with the concentrate and is destroyed in the subsequent processing operations. The remainder is transferred to the tailings, Release into the water systems should be avoided.
